Social Gatherings

The Beloved Community understands that community is formed and healing occurs when we enjoy our time together.  Healthy socialization and finding joy in community is also vital to recovery from religious trauma. With this in mind, we hope to gather as often as possible to socialize, get to know one another better, build community, and to simply have fun. Below you will find more information about our upcoming social events.

Every Thursday - Coffee with Community

Drop by Starbucks (3801 Guess Rd.) on Thursday mornings between 9-11AM and join us for coffee. We’d love to meet you and share more about The Beloved Community, learn more about you, and just chat.  We hope to see you there!

Friday, January 24, 6:30 PM - Game Night

After the holidays are over many of us suffer post-holiday doldrums with shorter days and colder temperatures. This year promises to be extra-challenging given the political realities we are facing. Phillip always reminds us of the importance of joy in our lives and having fun together is one way that we share joy with each other. One of my fondest memories of childhood was our family’s tradition of Friday night game night. So please plan to join me for TBC Game Night on Friday, January 24, 2025!  (6:30-8:30pm)

We’ll order pizza (one meat, one veggie). You can “bring your own bottle” to share (eg lemonade, soda, hot cider etc etc) If you bring something stronger, then we’ll remind each other to drive responsibly when we leave. You could also bring a salad/veggies to go along with pizza or popcorn/munchies to go along with our rousing games!

Please bring your favorite table game or card game.  I’m bringing Mexican Train Dominoes and a card/dice game called Fill or Bust.  We’ll have the option to get several different games going that are fun for everyone.  It’s guaranteed that a good time will be had by all.

Eileen Morgan, host for the Game Night.
